Be part of the Trybe

Your first session is a taster of what Trybe House Theatre is about. It involves games, getting to know the group, and understanding how the space works.

It's also an opportunity to learn more about how the organisation was formed, why it exists, and what it means to be part of it.

A typical session lasts around two to two and a half hours and follows a shared structure.

We begin with a group check-in, creating space for everyone to arrive and settle into the room. This is followed by a warm-up: games and activities that build energy, connection and focus.

From there, we move into creative work: exploring ideas connected to a production, responding to a provocation, or working with material introduced by facilitators or guest artists.

We end with a group check-out, reflecting on the session and preparing for what comes next.

We encourage members to think of themselves as makers: creating their own scripts, devising scenes, and developing work across theatre and beyond, including sound, design and digital content, all while being guided by experienced practitioners.

Where we see potential or a genuine interest, we embrace it and support members to step into different roles: directing a scene, shaping a production, contributing to marketing, or creating content.

There is no expectation to perform unless you feel ready to. We understand that everyone is at a different stage in their journey, and we respect that.

At the same time, we create work with the aim of sharing it with an audience, whether through an intimate sharing or a public performance. What matters most is your commitment to the space and your willingness to explore.
