Manorism: An Adaptation by Yomi Sode brought together the THT ensemble with one of the UK’s most exciting spoken word artists. The piece explored what it means to grow up Black and British, weaving together personal testimony, verse and ensemble physical theatre.
Presented at the Southbank Centre as part of their autumn programme, the production showcased the extraordinary talent emerging from THT’s participatory work and demonstrated the company’s ability to create ambitious, professional-quality theatre.
Manorism showed us what happens when you give young Black men a stage and the freedom to tell their own stories.
